NVIDIA Hopes to Reclaim Entry-Level GPU Market With RTX 5050 & 5060Ti After Strong RDNA4 Launch

After reports surfaced online that NVIDIA plans to release its entry-level Blackwell GPUs as early as this month, leaks started pouring in, some of which seemingly confirmed the specifications for RTX 5050 and RTX 5060Ti.

RTX 5050 to Be the Only Blackwell GPU With GDDR6; 5060 Ti Expected to Consume 12.5% More Power at 180W TGP

Over the past few days, strong rumours and leaks have surfaced in favour of an entry-level 50-class Blackwell GPU’s release. Recently, hardware leaker @kopite7kimi has taken to X to confirm the specification numbers for the mid-range RTX 5060Ti and its cheaper counterpart, the RTX 5050.

According to the tweet, the 5060Ti will come in 8GB and 16GB models, with GDDR7 and a 128-bit memory bus. In line with previous rumours, Kimi states it will use the GB206 die on a PG152 board. The interesting bit, however, was the TGP numbers, which are said to be 180W, a 12.5% increase over RTX 4060Ti’s 160W.

For the lower-priced RTX 5050, which is expected to come in at around $199 to $249, Kimi has mentioned that it will use the same PG152 board, albeit with a single 8GB GDDR6 configuration. The inclusion of GDDR6 will surely still offer decent performance while helping to keep costs down. As we mentioned in an earlier report, NVIDIA’s RTX 5050 will directly rival Intel’s ARC B580, and cost will surely be a deciding factor for many consumers looking for a modern, entry-level card.

The RTX 5050 is said to be rated at 130W, which may be a bit too high for a 50-class GPU. Still, it’s best to wait for official benchmark data before jumping to conclusions. The release date is expected to be later this month, with the cards going on sale in April.

NVIDIA’s supply fiasco isn’t making things better for the company, and with AMD’s “strong” RDNA4 launch, Team Green will be looking to redeem itself in the entry-level retail segment.

This is all we know for now, but rest assured that we will keep you updated as new information becomes available.
