[FIX] NBA App League YoSpace Not Working on iPhone (Error Code 7012)

The YoSpace 7012 Error Code (The video cannot be played) appears when users try to play a video from the mobile version of the NBA App League. This is an error that can be encountered on both the iPhone and the iPad. In some cases, this error could be caused by a problem on the developer’s end, but the error code also points to a few local problems that you can fix yourself.

If you’re just starting to troubleshoot this issue, the first thing you should do is update the app to the latest version and take advantage of the hotfix pushed by developers. The other major cause of this error is a VPN connection that gets rejected by the main NBA streaming server.

If you are using the latest build and are getting the 7012 error, try offloading or reinstalling the app from the Settings menu.

1. Update the app to the latest version

If you don’t have the most recent version of the NBA app, you may still run into errors that were fixed in the most recent update. By now, the developers have fixed the design flaw that was triggering the 7012 at a widespread level, so you’ll end up making the experience way more stable if you start by updating the NBA app.

Note: You might need to check your iPhone settings and free space if you discover that there’s a new version of the app available and the app never updated automatically.

In order to do so, follow the next steps:

  1. From the home screen of your iPhone, open the App Store.
Open up the App Store on the iPhone
Open up the App Store on the iPhone
  2. Once you’re on the root directory of the App Store, tap on the Search Icon situated in the bottom right corner of your screen.

    Searching for the app
  3. Search for the NBA app and if you see the Update button right next to the app name.
  4. If you see it, simply tap on Update to make sure that you are running the latest version of the app.
  5. Follow the on-screen prompts to complete the update, then open the NBA app once again and see if the 7012 error is now fixed.

2. Offload NBA App

If you’ve already ensured that the NBA App is already updated to the latest version, another potential culprit that might trigger the 7012 issue with the app is corrupted cache data.

This behavior is likely not something caused by your own doing – it’s due to a design flaw that facilitates the accumulation of corrupted cache data. To fix this, you’ll need to uninstall the NBA app and restart your iPhone before starting streaming again.

Note: By offloading the app, you will delete the app’s program data, but at the same time keep any documents or settings that are associated with the app on your iPhone. It’s iOS’s equivalent of clearing the cache and data on Android.

Here are the complete steps that you need to follow to Offload the NBA App:

Note: The instructions below are universal and will work on every iPhone & iPad model running the latest iOS version.

  1. From the home screen of your device, tap on Settings.
    Access the Settings menu
    Access the Settings menu
  2. Inside the main Settings menu, tap on General.
    Accessing the General tab

  5. Now tap on Offload App and tap again to confirm.

    Offloading the NVA app
  6. It will take a little bit to process and then a Reinstall button will appear on the screen. Tap on it to Reinstall the app.
  7. Open the NBA app once again and see if the error message is resolved.

4. Disable VPN (if applicable)

Due to licensing issues, streaming from the NBA application is restricted in certain territories.

Because a sizable segment of users has tried to circumvent this restriction with VPNs and Proxies, the developers have added an additional layer that checks for an active VPN and terminates the connection if it finds one.

So if you are using an active VPN in the US and you’re experiencing the YoSpace 7012 Error Code (The video cannot be played) error as you’re trying to watch a live stream or play a recorded event, this is probably the reason why.

The fix, in this case, depends on how you’re using VPN on your iOS device.

If you are using a standalone application, open it and look for the Disconnect button. Tap on it to make sure the VPN is no longer active before opening the NBA app once again.

If you’re using the built-in VPN option, follow the instructions below to disable the active VPN using the Settings app:

  1. Unlock your iOS device and tap on the Settings icon from the home screen.

    Access the Settings menu
  2. Tap on General from the main categories in the Settings menu.

    Disable the VPN connection
    Disable the VPN connection
  5. Once the VPN is disabled, reboot your iOS device and launch the NBA app once again and see if the problem is now fixed.

3. Reinstall the NBA App

If offloading the app didn’t do much in your case and you’re not using an interfering VPN, the last thing you can try is to reinstall the app.

You can do this by going into your iPhone Storage, searching for the NBA App, and deleting it from your device.

Update: Reinstalling the NBA app is typically confirmed to be effective in scenarios where you previously side-loaded the app from outside the app store. This is a common practice if you live outside the US and the app is not available for download.

However, keep in mind that if you are living outside the US and you replace the ‘region-free’ app version with the clean version, streaming might stop working if the geo-location check fails.

If you want to proceed with the reinstallation process, follow the steps below:

  1. First, start by ensuring that NBA is not running in the background.
  2. From the home screen of your iOS device, go to Settings.
    Access the Settings menu
    Access the Settings menu
  3. From the Settings menu, tap on General.
    Accessing the General tab
    Accessing the General tab
  4. Inside the General tab, tab on iPhone Storage.
    Access the Iphone Storage menu
    Access the Iphone Storage menu
  5. Next, search on the NBA app, and then tap on it from the list of results.
  6. Inside the dedicated NBA app menu, tap on the Delete app button to uninstall the application from your device.
