How to Get a Fortnite FTC Refund?
The Federal Trade Commission is giving refunds to Fortnite users who had been exploited into accidental purchases due to Epic’s desperate in-game moneymaking tactics. If you feel that you were one of the affected, the FTC allows you to file a claim.
Who is eligible?
To file the claim form, you must be at least 18 years old. If not, your parent or guardian must fill out the form on your behalf. You are eligible for compensation if at least one of the following is true:
- You were charged in-game currency for items you didn’t want between January 2017 and September 2022
- Your child made charges to your credit card without your knowledge between January 2017 and November 2018
- Your account was locked between January 2017 and September 2022 after you complained to your credit card company about wrongful charges.
At the moment, the claim process is limited to players in the United States only. You can also email admin@fortniterefund.com to get more information on the filing process.
How to apply?
To apply for a refund, you will need your Epic Account ID. This won’t affect your existing Fortnite account in any way. The FTC would process all refunds in bank cheques or PayPal payments.
- Check your email associated with your Epic account to see if you have already received a claim number.
- If you have, you are not expected to proceed further.
- Head on over to www.fortniterefund.com/file-a-claim.
- Enter your Epic Account ID, and confirm to file a claim.
- The form will require you to fill in specific information regarding your Fortnite account and in-game purchases.
FTC says that the refunds will be processed by 2026, and the amount of compensation will depend on several factors, including but not limited to the number of claimants.
