You missed a VITAL step in you instructions. People need to path the command prompt to the folder where adb.exe is located BEFORE the command prompt will recognize it as a valid command. DEFAULT path on Windows 10 (should be the same for 7, 8.1 and Vista) is C:UsersUSERNAMEappdatalocalandroidsdkplatform-tools.

Caveat #1 – Replace USERNAME in the path above with your account name

Caveat #2 – In order to be able to see and access the AppData folder you will need to go to Folder Options and make sure that “Show hidden files and folders” is checked.

I accidentally deleted my photos via what I thought was a system caching of unwanted files to increase memory. I was mistaken. It deleted all my photos, videos, etc. Ive tried dr. fone, jihosoft android, google photos, etc. No luck. Do you know how I can retrieve these files? Do I need to root my phone to dig deeper? They have to live somewhere?
