Google Pixel 5 Photos Leaks: The Phone Model Shows “5s” Which May Indicate a Separate 5G Model

Google’s Pixel devices are one of the most leaked cellphones on the Internet. It is true that even before the announcement, users often have a complete idea of what the phone would look like. Either Google lacks what most companies maintain in confidentiality or the company simply lets it slip to create hype. It is Google, anything is possible. Now, a couple of weeks ago, we got wind of the possible Pixel 4a 5G and the Pixel 5 devices. We even got to know a bit about the specs here and there.

A tweet from 9to5Google gives us more insight into the devices and a possible leak on the exterior visuals.

Now, before we jump into details, let’s talk about the looks. We can see that the phone is pretty similar to the Pixel 4a and on par with Google’s aesthetic. The camera module is once again square but we can see an ultra-wide lens. There is also a notchless panel on the front with a hole-punch cutout. This looks much better than the forehead from last year. There are patterns etched on the back and a fingerprint sensor too (where it should be). The patterns are a sign of a testing prototype from the company.

As for the internals, the images leaked show us that the about the phone information. The phone, according to the embedded article, is running a version of Android R, thus we do not see the time on the top bar. The peculiar thing about this is the model name. The phone is described as the Pixel 5s. Now, this may just be for the prototype model but sources indicate that this may just be the 5G variant.

Google’s Pixel devices have been expensive in the past. This year, they may be looking to cut the price with a base 4G model and charging a premium for the 5G version. Maybe this is the case, maybe the sources are completely off. We shall know for certain in the weeks to come!
