How to Fix AOC USB Monitor not Working

The AOC USB monitor sometimes quickly shows the desktop or its logo, then turns off and displays nothing. After this, you might see a “Code 43” error in Device Manager. This error means that Windows has stopped the USB display because it found a problem or the device was not working properly.

The most common reason for this is not enough power from USB 2.0 ports or from USB hubs that don’t have their own power. Other possible reasons include old DisplayLink drivers, bad USB cables, or the monitor having conflicts with other hardware.

In this article, we will discuss different ways to solve this error.

1. Use a Shorter Cable to Prevent Power Issues

Many users have noticed that their AOC monitor either turns on for just a few seconds or does not display anything at all. This problem is especially common among Microsoft Surface users. One widely supported solution is to replace the original USB cable included with the monitor. The supplied cables are often too long, which can lead to more interruptions in the power flow. Additionally, USB hubs may not provide enough power when using the included cable.

To fix this, use a regular charging cable for your phone—just make sure it matches the port on your monitor (either USB 2.0 or USB 3.0).

2. Reinstall the Display Link Driver

Sometimes, drivers can cause issues with external devices like monitors. Many users have found that simply uninstalling and reinstalling the Display Link driver fixed their problem. Display Link is a Windows application that manages settings for external displays and audio, allowing you to adjust them easily.

  1. Press the Windows key and type Control Panel.
  2. Click on Uninstall a program.

  4. Click on Uninstall.
  5. Afterwards, restart your computer.
  6. If the issue is still not resolved, please follow the next solution below.

3. Download and Install the Latest Driver

If reinstalling the driver didn’t solve the issue, the problem might be due to outdated drivers. This is a common issue, especially for Surface users. Often, driver problems are caused by a recent Windows update or a bug in the monitor’s driver software. Updating your Display Link driver can usually fix this.

  1. First, visit the Display Link driver download page here.
