AMD’s ‘Unreleased’ RX 9070 Reference Card Is Already Selling in China’s Black Market

This year, AMD’s latest Radeon RX 9070 and RX 9070 XT launched without an official “Made By AMD” (MBA) reference design; at least not for consumers. Instead, only AIB models were available at launch. But here’s where things get interesting: a reference design does exist, and it’s allegedly surfaced in China’s black markets.
AMD Said It Didn’t Exist, But RX 9070 MBA Cards Are Already Selling in China
The GPU, seemingly an OEM version for pre-builts (and nothing like the design renders), was spotted by @Olrak29_ on Chiphell, where images of the dual-fan design were shared. The card does keep the same overall frame design, albeit in a pure-black color scheme.

According to the leaked images, the card doesn’t show any signs of official packaging, or the company’s logo aside from a simple, and traditionally placed “RADEON” branding on top. A similar design was spotted earlier, also in China, of the similarly designed RX 9070 XT, in a triple-fan configuration.
Usually, the board partners manufacture the reference design, but with no official claims or announcements, it’s surprising to note that such cards exist in the market. The leaks mention that the XT variant is on sale, being sold for close to ¥5800 (~$800) with insured shipping.
AMD had claimed earlier that the reference design was only just a “render,” but with back-to-back leaks, its clear that a MBA design exists, even if it’s meant for OEM systems.
