AMD’s RX 9070 XT Pre-Orders Show Strong Demand in China

AMD’s RX 9000-series launch initially wooed us with its aggressive pricing when compared to NVIDIA’s Blackwell series. The Radeon RX 9070 comes in at an MSRP of $549, while the RX 9070 XT will retail for $599.
The GPUs will hit shelves later this week on March 6, but before that, pre-order data from China has shown strong demand in the region.

From early numbers, it is evident that the most popular variant is the PURE Sapphire Edition, followed by VastArmor, and then XFX (Mercury, Quick Silver and Swift). From this data, one can infer that the GPU will be a strong competitor to the RTX-50 lineup, at least in China. AMD claims that the RX 9070 XT will match NVIDIA’s 5070Ti.
It’s important to note that AMD has opened pre-orders before any benchmarks or unofficial reviews are published, which is an interesting move. It could give the company a bit of leeway into luring customers in, solely on the basis of claims made in their presentations.
