Fix: Error Code 127 in Adobe Premiere Pro During Installation
Error Code 127 in Adobe Premiere Pro is an installation issue that typically appears when the setup process is unable to extract one or more compressed files during initialization. The failure specifically occurs within the adobeTemp directory, a temporary folder used by Adobe’s installer to unpack and prepare core program files before deployment.
This error is primarily caused by one of the following system-level issues:
- Insufficient Disk Space: If the destination drive or temporary storage location lacks enough free space, the zip archive cannot be unpacked successfully.
- Restricted Folder Permissions: The %temp% or adobeTemp folder may not have required write or modify permissions, which blocks the installer’s ability to complete the extraction process.
- Antivirus or Security Software Interference: Real-time protection features may falsely flag Adobe’s extraction process as suspicious and prevent it from writing files to the temp folder, causing the installation to fail.

1. Temporarily Disable Your Antivirus
Antivirus software can sometimes block you from installing certain programs, even if they are from trusted sources.
If you are having trouble installing Adobe Premiere Pro, consider disabling your antivirus temporarily and installing the software. Once done, you can enable the antivirus again.
If you have a third-party antivirus, open the app and disable it. If you use Windows Defender, follow the steps below:
- Click on the Windows button and type “Windows Security.”
- Open the security settings, go to the Virus and Threat Protection tab, and click on Manage Settings on the right.
- Toggle off real-time protection.
Now, install Adobe Premiere Pro again. You can enable Windows Defender by following the same steps afterward.
2. Make Sure the adobeTemp Folder Has Full Permissions
The adobeTemp folder must have all necessary permissions to ensure Premiere Pro can be installed correctly. Without full permissions, the installer may be unable to extract and write essential files during the setup process.
- Navigate to the drive where you have installed Adobe Premiere Pro.
- Locate the adobeTemp folder.
- Right-click on it and select Properties.
- Go to the Security tab and ensure the permissions for the SYSTEM section have all the permissions checked, especially “Full control.”
- Keep your antivirus disabled.
- Install Premiere Pro again.
3. Install by Using Your Mobile Hotspot
Sometimes, your Wi-Fi connection may trigger security warnings during program installation. To resolve this, try connecting your PC to your mobile device’s hotspot and proceed with the installation.
- On your mobile device, go to Settings > Portable Hotspot > Turn on.
- Then, disconnect your PC from your Wi-Fi and connect it to your hotspot instead.
