Apple Announces the New 13-inch MacBook Pro Today! Base Model Starting at $1799

The New Magic Keyboard On all Models

With the COVID-19 lockdown in some countries and general social distancing in others, many tech announcements have been lowkey, to say the least. Of course, people who float rumors don’t stand back. While Apple quietly updated the iPad Pro models, the iPhone SE was announced, we still got some of the people such as Jon Prosser to let us know beforehand. This time around though, we’ve had an interesting turn-up. About an hour ago, Jon tweeted this, which clearly showed that he was going to undercut Apple’s “Surprise” announcement but we didn’t know what it was.

Then, only moments ago, we got another tweet fro 9to5Mac telling us that Apple may just be announcing the 13-inch MacBook Pros today. The tweet is embedded below.

The Updated MacBook Pro 13-inch

After all these speculations, moments ago, Apple finally updated its lineup of 13-inch MacBook Pro. As stated on the website, the new configurations include the Intel 10th Generation Processors. These are equipped with double the base storages and start off at $1799. For that, a user gets a 2.0GHz Quad-Core i5 Processor and 512GB of SSD storage. Additionally, the devices now finally have 16GB of LPDDR4X memory. This means that faster RAM speeds, compared to the much slower 2133MHz LPDDR3 one found in the previous models.

In our opinion, the best option for the money is the one with 16GB of RAM and 1TB storage. For an additional $200, you get twice the storage space. Which is a good deal! It still is a bummer that Apple didn’t opt for the 14-inch screen. This was an internal upgrade and nothing more. The Keyboard has been upgraded to the Magic Keyboard, marking the end of the Butterfly switches as well. That is good too, we were honestly tired of those finicky things.

All the devices can be seen on Apple’s Website and are available for order today!
