Xiaomi’s Pocophone to Get 4K 60 FPS Video Recording Along With Night Mode, Widewine L1 Certification Also In The Works

Xiaomi is also rolling out night mode and slo-mo this month on Pocophone

Xiaomi’s Pocophone is already been dubbed as the best budget smartphone of 2018. The only drawback that one can see in the phone is availability. The Pocophone is not available in all regions like the US where it does not support any carrier. Despite the lack of presence in all markets, Xiaomi has been making efforts to increase the efficiency of the phone.

In order to stay true to its commitment, Xiaomi has been making quite a few software upgrades in order to improve the performance. As part of its commitment, Xiaomi will roll out another update that will provide slo-mo and night mode. Not only this, but 4K 60 FPS will also be rolled out on Pocophone in the next couple of months.

This news was confirmed by Xiaomi’s General Manager of India Manmohan Chandolu in a series of tweets. Chandolu said that the new camera modes will be rolled out to the users in the coming weeks. The first update that Xiaomi will roll out will include the introduction of both the slow-mo and night mode on Pocophone. The camera of Pocophone is already impressive and these new features will further improve them.

Introduction of 4K 60 FPS

In a follow-up tweet, Manmohan Chandolu said that by February they will be rolling out a stable update for 4K 60 FPS video recording. Once the update is rolled out, Pocophone will become the cheapest phone to have the 4k 60 FPS recording feature. Keeping in mind the price of $350, the phone contains a Snapdragon 845 with 4,000 mAh battery and 8 GB RAM, which is already very impressive.

The company is also working with its partners on the introduction of Widevine L1 certification on its phone. It is still not clear how Xiaomi will work on this. However, Manmohan is confident that they will do it in the coming time.
