Xiaomi Mi9 and Mi MIX 4 to Include Snapdragon 855, Triple Camera Setup And More

Xiaomi seems to follow a trend before the release of one of their phones. Xiaomi would release a full-frontal image of the phone, as they did with the Mi MIX 3. Three weeks ago, they released an image of a phone, which would feature a 48 MP Camera. The phone was speculated to be either the Mi 9 or the Mi MIX 4. You can read more about that here.

In the past couple of hours reports have emerged giving us more insight into the specifications of the two phones.  It seems that dual cameras are just not enough for marketing smartphones these days. Brands are now advancing towards triple camera setups, sometimes even 4. Xiaomi is seemingly hoping on this trend as well. As per a report from iThome, the two devices will feature a triple camera setup. It’s reported that one of the sensors on both the phones will be a 48 MP sensor.

Moreover, the Qualcomm Snapdragon 855 will be powering these phones. Apart from this, Xiaomi MIX 4’s camera lens might have a periscope lens. This allows for greater optical zoom, which at the current moment seems to be the only difference between the two phones. Furthermore, as Samsung is making a push for the foldable smartphone, there have been reports that the Mi MIX 4 might just be a foldable phone. It will be interesting to see Xiaomi’s implementation of this form factor

Previously, there were many reports that Xiaomi might release a  Mi MIX 3 5G edition powered with the new Snapdragon 855 SoC. Subsequently, this indicates that the two phones may just feature 5G connectivity, which would be a first for Xiaomi phones. Unfortunately, these are all the specifications that we know as of now.

With a new version of the Mi MIX 3 coming combined with the Mi 9, Mi MIX 4 and a new POCOPHONE, 2019 will be a very busy year for Xiaomi.
