Xiaomi Launches A New Smart Alarm Clock With Xiao AI And Bluetooth 4.0 – Comes with Internet Radio And News Functionality

While it looks like most digital alarm clocks since only the time is displayed on the screen, it is truely aesthetic and minimalist. But what makes this device unique is it’s digital assistant Xiao AI, the smart assistant launched some time ago and present by default on some of the brand’s smartphones, think Bixby(China version).

In terms of physical dynamics, this minimal “smart” clock’s dimensions are about 126.2 × 27 × 60.8 mm with a weight of about 170 g. It also sports a 4 core processor with a clock frequency of 1.3 GHz, along with Wi-Fi modules and Blueooth 4.0 LE. The Xiaomi Xiao AI Smart Alarm Clock is able to process voice commands by interacting with the user. This device offers 30 ring tones, up to 80 reminders, internet radio, weather information, news and smart home appliances management based on the Xiaomi Mijia Quartz Watch platform.

Xiaomi makes hundreds of lifestyle products under its Mi Ecosystem label. Partnered with a bunch of Chinese companies, it offers smart home products, fitness bands, backpacks, luggage, and even screwdriver sets. All these are now connected with each other and bundled together with the help of the Mi Home app. The unifying theme among all of Xiaomi’s lifestyle products is great value for money, a trait that builds the foundation of the company and is responsible for the majority of it’s success. Due to its availability in only the chinese market you’ll have to purchase them via third-party resellers like AliBaba.

The Xiaomi Xiao AI Smart Alarm Clock was launched this morning along with the Mi 8 Youth Edition, Mi 8 Screen Fingerprint Edition and Notebook Youth Edition. The device will be sold in China starting September 28th, at a price of 149 yuan or about 22$ US.
