Shortly after the appearance of the Xiaomi Black Shark Skywalker with Snapdragon 855, another Xiaomi flagship phone has now been listed on Geekbench. The phone is codenamed Xiaomi Cepheus. Geekbench does not specifically tell us the chip that the phone is running, but we can conclude from its scores that it indeed is the recently released 7nm chip, Snapdragon 855. This is still not confirmed as the Geekbench listing does not mention any specific chip.
The phone has achieved a pretty good score on Geekbench. The Xiaomi Cepheus smartphone has scored 3,475 and 10,872 points in single-core and multi-core tests respectively on Geekbench.
This score gives us a bit of insight into the phone. According to the listing, this smartphone comes with 6GB of RAM, with no mention of internal storage. It is running the new Android Pie. Other than that no more specifications are known as of now.
It is known that Xiaomi will be releasing at least 4 phones this year which will be powered by the Snapdragon 855. One of them is the widely anticipated 5G version of the Mi MIX 3. The others being the Xiaomi Mi 9, Xiaomi Mi MIX 4 and Xiaomi Black Shark Skywalker. The Cepheus is speculated to be either the Mi 9 or the Mi MIX 4.
Xiaomi also recently split its Redmi brand into an independent entity. Redmi is also going to launch a new smartphone with the 48-megapixel camera on 10th January in China, this is also something to look forward too.
