Xbox Registers New Product: “Xbox Series” May Just Be a Stripped Down Series X For Gamers On A Budget

As we move towards the next generation of consoles, it is good to know that these machines would not come in cheap. Yes, it is true that manufacturers almost always lose money on their consoles. But, it should be clear that it is a diminishing utility. After a point, increased performance needs to be fueled by money. There have been talks about a budget Xbox coming along the same lines of the Series X.

According to an article from Windows Central, the company may have just registered a product though could very well be this “budget Xbox”. Dubbed as the Xbox Series, the machine was trademarked on the 12th of June and our friends over at Windows Central caught wind of it. The main source was from an article on Generacion Xbox.

Internally, the device is codenamed as Xbox Lockhart, it would be a stripped-down version of the Xbox Series X. The article suggests that it would deliver performance up to about 4 Teraflops. In our opinion, it may be on par with the Xbox One X. It may feature the latest processor from AMD and SSD options too. This would most likely make use of graphical units from Xbox One X as well. Thus, the cut down price would be achieved.

Currently, we do not know how much the Xbox Series X and the PS5 would cost. While there are a bunch of speculations, It should be taken into consideration that these consoles would be featuring high-end specs. Not to mention, they have promised 8K gameplay that must not come in cheap. Perhaps we would know more with time.
