Xbox and Bethesda will Attend Gamescom 2023

It has been confirmed that Xbox and Bethesda will be participating in Gamescom 2023. The news was revealed by the official Gamescom Twitter account, which stated, “Breaking – Xbox and Bethesda will join us on the showfloor for Gamescom 2023! More details soon.” No further specifics were provided.

Gamescom, one of the biggest gaming events globally, is scheduled to take place from August 23rd to August 27th. To kick off the show, the highly anticipated Gamescom Opening Night Live will return on August 22nd. This showcase, hosted and produced by Geoff Keighley, has become a fan-favorite event in recent years.

2023 has been a great year for Xbox fans. Microsoft kicked off the year with Developer Direct, giving fans the amazing game Hi-Fi Rush. More recently, they held a double event: the Xbox Games Showcase and Starfield Direct. The showcase provided a sneak peek at several highly anticipated games coming to Xbox later this year or in 2024. 

Starfield Direct, on the other hand, gave fans a detailed look at the most anticipated upcoming Bethesda game, Starfield, which is set to release on September 6. So, it will be exciting to see what else Xbox has in store for its fans and what it is planning to showcase at Gamescom.

Besides Xbox, Nintendo has already confirmed its attendance at Gamescom 2023, returning to the event after four years. However, it appears that PlayStation fans might be disappointed, as industry publication GamesMarkt has reported that Sony has no plans to attend the show. 

The organizers of Gamescom, Koelnmesse, and the German Games Industry Association, have shared that the event is gaining momentum. As of mid-March, the number of registered companies for Gamescom 2023 had increased by 10% compared to the same period the previous year (via VGC).
