Error Code 0x8024A000 indicates that the Auto Update was unable to service the Windows Update Requests originated from the Updated Server. This can happen for a number of reasons, including a corrupt windows store, a firewall blocking windows server, or that your network isn’t able to make the connection with the windows update server. In this guide, a couple of methods have been listed which have worked for many users.
I would suggest that you try all of them.
Restarting Windows Update Services
Run command prompt in administrative mode, to do this hit the windows key if you are not in the tiles mode, if you are then just type cmd and it should list the results. Right click, cmd and select Run As Administrator
A black command prompt window will open, in this window, enter the following commands. After each command, hit enter.
net stop bits
net stop cryptsvc
Now type the following commands exactly as is in the command prompt, and after each command hit enter.
ren %systemroot%\SoftwareDistribution SoftwareDistribution.old
Now, download the Update script from here
Right click the WindowsUpdate.bat file and select Run As Administrator, wait 2-3 minutes.
Now back to the black command prompt, type the following commands one by one and hit enter after typing each command:
net start bits
net start cryptsvc
That’s all. Now close command prompt, restart your computer and test.
Disable your anti-virus or firewall, and then try updating.
Check PC Time
Make sure your PC shows the correct time, if not then sync the clock.
