Windows 10 Insider Build 17711 brings Auto Suggest for Registry Editor and more

As the weekend officially begins, the news is out regarding Microsoft introducing a fresh build 17711 for Windows Insiders on Fast and Skip Ahead rings. The recent build includes various new features for Microsoft Edge among many other things. According to Microsoft, “Today, we are releasing Windows 10 Insider Preview Build 17711 (RS5) to Windows Insiders in the Fast ring in addition to those who opted in to Skip Ahead.”

Improvements for Microsoft Edge

The new build 17711 brings improvements for Microsoft Edge including richer learning tools with additional themes. Users will be able to choose the theme color according to their taste. Furthermore, the build offers the feature of line focus that helps improving the focus during reading an article by highlighting sets of one, three and five lines. Autofill data can also be saved in the new consent box. The consent box now features string changes and an improved design for better discoverability. Not only this, significant improvements have been made to the PDF toolbar which can now be invoked by simply hovering at the top.

User focus is improved through depth addition in the form of shadows in the latest build by Microsoft, though some glitches are expected to arise. Microsoft mentions, “Note: This is a work in progress and you may see some glitches or oddities – this will be improved across flights.”

A new Windows HD Color page has been made available under the Display Settings which will allow Windows HD Color-capable devices to show high dynamic range content including videos, photos, apps and games.

Improvements in Registry Editor

Windows 10 Build 17711 now offers a dropdown as the user types to help complete the phrase being entered. Now Windows Insiders will find it more convenient to type into the regedit address bar, without forgetting or missing out anything.

There are many other general improvements and bugs fixed as mentioned in Microsoft’s blog that have evolved and improved upon the overall experience of the latest build. The company also mentions some general known issues along with known issues for narrator, developers and game bar that are still present in the build but mention their resolve of being committed to fixing them in later builds.
