It goes without saying that Windows 10 is one of the most widely used OS today, which now runs on more than 1 billion devices. The latest version of Windows features various cosmetic refinements including the Fluent Design language, a dark theme, and Start menu.
Despite all these changes, there are thousands of people who still don’t like the makeover. Notably, a subset of such users belongs to those who have just upgraded from Windows 7 to Windows 10. They are always looking for ways to get rid of the modern interface and enable the classic theme on Windows 10.
Obviously, a familiar look and feel would make it easier for them to quickly adapt to the new version of Windows. It is one of the major reasons that Windows 7 fanboys have been highlighting this issue on various forums. But apparently, the feature was never on the priority list of Microsoft engineers.
Someone Filed A Petition To Bring Back The Nostalgic Look Of Windows
It seems like now people have decided to take things to a completely new level, by filing a new petition on Change.org. The Windows 10 user wants Microsoft to implement a feature that would allow them to switch to the Windows Classic theme.
The idea is pretty interesting, especially for the classic theme fans around the world. The Windows 10 user, Hans Ziegler states the idea in the following manner:
“The classic theme is an economic, familiar and well working theme that has been reliable for over 17 years until the release of Windows 8. It has no disadvantages and doesn’t harm anyone. It would make it easier for users who have to switch from Windows 7 or older versions to Windows 10. It would also be an alternative to the unpopular Metro design.”
Needless to say, you can still do the same with the help of some third-party software. In fact, Windows 10 still comes with various features and icons that have been borrowed from earlier versions of Windows. But, built-in functionality to enable the classic theme would be useful for everyone.
At the time of writing, the petition has been signed by only 10 people. If you support this idea, go ahead and sign the petition right away.
Do you think that the implementation of the classic theme is something that should be considered by Microsoft? If so, share your opinions in the comments section below.
