Facebook has been having some security issues and the data breach is very unfortunate keeping in mind the millions of people that use this social media platform every day. A new tweet reveals that users might be able to recover their Facebook accounts using Whatsapp.
This might be an extra layer of security that Facebook is introducing keeping in mind that Facebook did buy Whatsapp a while back. This would be a major security improvement. One of my relatives recently had their Facebook account hacked and did not know the password to the linked email account. As stupid as that was, I am sure that if this option was there then things could have been different. You can check out the tweet included below:
In according to my discoveries, you will be able to recover your Facebook account using WhatsApp, in future.

Mark Zuckerberg talked about the vulnerability that was found and the following is what he had to say regarding the matter:
“I’m glad we found this and fixed the vulnerability, but it definitely is an issue that this happened in the first place. I think this underscores the attacks that our community and our services face.”
Privacy and security of social media users is a major concern whether or not you are aware of it. It is common knowledge that companies are willing to sell your personal information in order to make money and this has been going on for a long time now. According to the US Senator Mark Warner:
“Today’s disclosure is a reminder about the dangers posed when a small number of companies like Facebook or the credit bureau Equifax are able to accumulate so much personal data about individual Americans without adequate security measures. This is another sobering indicator that Congress needs to step up and take action to protect the privacy and security of social media users.”
Facebook is a major platform where people share their information a well as personal details regarding what they do on a regular basis and that is a lot of data keeping in mind the kind of userbase that the site has and the number of people that are logged in at the same time.
