Voice Messages in WhatsApp Get a Big Overhaul With New Features

Voice messages have really caught on recently, and according to WhatsApp, users on their platform share on an average seven billion voice messages daily.
Voice messages have made it quick and easy for people to have more expressive conversations. Showing emotion or excitement through voice is more natural than text, and in many situations, voice messages are the preferred form of communication on WhatsApp
The built-in voice message functionality in WhatsApp is very basic, and lacks some of the extra features found in competing messaging platforms, like Telegram. To fix this, WhatsApp has recently announced a host of new voice message features. These include:
Out of Chat Playback
Voice messages in WhatsApp don’t play if the originating chat thread is closed. With ‘Out of Chat Playback’ voice messages won’t be interrupted when users go back and forth between different chat threads.
Pause/Resume Recording
This allows users to pause or resume while recording a voice message, giving more control and flexibility.
Waveform Visualization
This helps users with a visual que while recording a voice message.
Shows a visual representation of the sound on the voice message to help follow the recording.
Draft Preview
Users will now be able to preview recorded voice messages before posting.
Remember Playback
WhatsApp voice messages resume playing from the beginning after the current chat thread is closed, regardless of where it is paused. Now with ‘Remember Playback’ users will be able to resume exactly where they left.
Fast Playback on Forwarded Messages
WhatsApp already has a Fast Playback feature for voice messages, and now they are extending the feature to even include forwarded voice messages.
