Valve Founder Claims That The Xbox Series X is a Better Console Than The PlayStation 5

Now, we are just a couple of months away from the launch of the upcoming, next-gen consoles. Not only do these machines offer much better performances, but they also offer better, top of the line graphics. Now, we see consoles actually catching up to the PCs of the world with the inclusion of things such as fast SSDs and even Ray-tracing. But, with both team blue and green in the mix, the question must arise, which one you should go for. Yes, you could go for both and while that may solve all your issues, spending north of $1000 seems a waste when you could have just spent it on a PC instead.

Here we see Gabe Newell, the founder of Valve, comment on what console he may go for. Being a game developer and having worked for Microsoft in the past, he doesn’t really have a stake in this competition. He claims, in the video embedded above that his company works on PCs so either console isn’t a problem for him. In his opinion though, he believes that he would go for the Xbox Series X. He claims, without any detailed explanation, dropping any jargon that Xbox is the better console.

It is perhaps understandable that he would go for the powerhouse out of the two. While PlayStation has been working to integrate the system to perform well, Xbox has straight on gone for raw power. While the two systems share similar specs in the processing department, Xbox has some serious gains in GPU performance. This is something that matters the most when it comes to gaming. Thus, he believes that it would make for a better console. Now, this is not something set in stone. There is a lot of variable at stake. If you’ve been a PlayStation user before and have a library of games, you’d want to stay loyal to team blue and so on. All we know is that both the companies would be pushing out excellent consoles. The question remains now, who would have a more attractive product.
