EXCLUSIVE: Here’s How Much Lenovo’s First ThinkPhone Will Cost in Europe

A week ago, Lenovo announced the “Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola” at CES 2023. It is their first-ever co-branded phone with Motorola and also the first phone under the Think branding. The device is made to celebrate 30th anniversary of ThinkPad, so it very much carries the same spirit in flesh and function.

For those unaware, the Lenovo ThinkPad branded devices are a line of business-oriented laptops and tablets developed and sold by Lenovo. They are known for their durable design, strong performance, and long battery life, and are often used by industry professionals and enterprises. ThinkPads are also famous for popularizing the infamous mouse nipple “Trackpoint“.

At the event, Lenovo mentioned that the Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola would be available in the US, Europe, Latin America, the Middle East, Australia, and select countries in Asia in the near future. However, Lenovo has not announced the price yet.

As per our sources, the Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola will be available in Europe in single storage option with 8GB RAM and 256GB ROM. The handset will cost EUR 999 in most European countries.

The Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola features a 6.6-inch pOLED display with a resolution of Fxbull HD+ (2400 x 1080 pixels), a 144Hz refresh rate, and support for HDR10+. The display includes a centered punch-hole notch for the front camera, and is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass Victus. An in-display fingerprint sensor is used for security.

On the CPU side, the phone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 8+ Gen 1 processor, manufactured using TSMC‘s 4nm process, and an integrated Adreno 730 GPU. It offers LPDDR5 RAM and UFS3.1 storage.

At the back it features a triple-lens camera system, with a 50MP Samsung S5KJN1 main sensor that boasts ƒ/1.8 aperture, 1.0-micron pixel size, OIS, and other standard features. Additionally, it has a 13MP Ultra-Wide-Angle lens with 120˚ FoV and a 2MP Depth sensor. The front-facing camera is a 32MP shooter with f/2.45 aperture and autofocus support.

The device is powered by a 5000mAh battery that supports 68W fast charging and has a USB 3.1 Type-C port for charging and data transfer. It also has the ability to charge wirelessly at up to 15W. The standard 68W adapter and USB Type-C cable are provided in the box.

The phone comes baked with latest Android 13. It also comes with pre-installed apps such as Microsoft 365, Outlook, and Teams. Additionally, it features Moto KeySafe, a separate processor that provides added security by storing PINs, passwords, crypto keys, and other sensitive information in a secure environment. IT admins can also use Moto OEMConfig or Moto Device Manager to remotely configure the device for business clients.

The Lenovo ThinkPhone by Motorola is rated for IP68, making it resistant to dust and water. It also has a MIL-STD 810H rating, able to withstand drops from up to 1.25 meters. A customizable key with a red accent color (ala Trackpoint) on the left edge allows for easy access to essential business and field apps with just one click. Lastly, the handset measures 158.8 x 74.4 x 8.3 mm in dimensions and 188.5 grams in terms of weight.
