The Steam Awards 2020 Winners Announced, Red Dead Redemption 2 Wins Multiple Awards

As we wrap up what seemed to be the biggest year for gaming, the winners of The Steam Awards have been revealed. The annual tradition sees a list of the year’s best games compete for ten awards, and the voting is done by users of the platform. After unveiling the nominees last month, the results are finally in as Red Dead Redemption 2 is crowned Steam’s Game of the Year 2020.

Game of the Year – Red Dead Redemption 2

Although Red Dead Redemption 2 first released in 2018, the PC version of the game was exclusively available on Epic Games Store. The Steam release wasn’t until December 2019, so that’s why it was nominated for The Steam Awards 2020. And it makes sense too, considering it took the top award from amazing titles like Hades, Doom Eternal, Fall Guys, and Death Stranding.

VR Game of the Year – Half-Life: Alyx

Following up the most-prized award, the Steam Awards VR Game of the Year award was taken by Half-Life: Alyx. While the game isn’t exactly the Half-Life game fans wanted, it still did very well as evident from its perfect rating on Steam. Other nominees included Phasmophobia, The Room VR, Thief Simulator VR, and Star Wars: Squadrons.

Labor of Love – Counter-Strike: Global Offensive

The Labor of Love Steam Award was given to Counter-Strike: Global Offensive for its years upon years of continued support and ever-increasing popularity.
