The Outer Worlds is an upcoming action-RPG game by the creators of Fallout: New Vegas. The game was officially announced last year in December, and was given a 2019 release date. Although an exact date is yet to be shared provided, a recent SteamDB leak has given us a targeted date.
The Outer Worlds
Earlier this week, the SteamDB listing for The Outer Worlds captured what looks to be a mistake by the developers. After an update to SteamDB, the game’s release date was revealed to be August 6th 2019. While the mistake was swiftly corrected, SteamDB’s history section has recorded the date.
It’s possible that the date shown is just a placeholder date. However, given how much Obsidian has revealed about the game, we can estimate that The Outer Worlds’ release date announcement is coming very soon.
The Outer Worlds is a single-player action-RPG with several key features. The player’s choices affect everything from story development to your character build. Additionally, the game uses the “flaw” gameplay mechanic to further enhance the gameplay experience.
“Lost in transit while on a colonist ship bound for the furthest edge of the galaxy, you awake decades later only to find yourself in the midst of a deep conspiracy threatening to destroy the Halcyon colony,” reads the game’s description.“As you explore the furthest reaches of space and encounter various factions, all vying for power, the character you decide to become will determine how this player-driven story unfolds. In the corporate equation for the colony, you are the unplanned variable.”
The Outer Worlds is expected to launch sometime in 2019 on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC. The August 6th release date suggested by the SteamDB leak is only speculation, and by no means official confirmation. Recently, developer Obsidian and publisher Private Division have been revealing lots of information about The Outer Worlds. If the August release date is even somewhat close, then we should expect to see an official announcement very soon.
