The Next Super Smash Bros. Ultimate DLC Fighter Might Have Just Leaked

Earlier this month, Super Smash Bros. Ultimate launched on the Nintendo Switch, and since then, the game has been the talk of the town. The Piranha Plant DLC character for the multiplayer brawler releases in February for owners of the digital edition. The Game Awards 2018 saw the announcement of Joker from the Persona 5 series as the next DLC figher for the game. According to a leak posted on a Japanese message board, the next character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate is Erdrick from Dragon Quest.

As reported by PersonaCentral, the leak posted to Japanese anonymous text board 5channel hints at the new DLC character and provides information about the upcoming Persona 5 game. The leaker claims that Joker features a ‘Jack Frost skin’ and launches alongside the “Mementos” stage.

Erdrick

Erdrick from Dragon Quest is the rumored DLC character for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate, who allegedly comes with the “Alefgard” stage. Alongside male and female skins for Erdrick, there will be two colors of Anlucia and the Dragon Quest 11 hero. This is supposedly thanks to a collaboration with Square Enix in order to benefit the overseas marketing of the Dragon Quest series.

The 5channel leaker states that developer Atlus is working on two Persona 5 games. ‘P5R’, a “complete edition” Persona game, and ‘P5U’, an arena fighting game like Persona 4 Arena. Last year in April, Atlus registered several domain names for the Persona series, which included ‘P5R’ and ‘P5U’. P5R is currently in development and is expected to launch in 2019. P5U, however, has been delayed as Arc System Works is focusing development on a Granblue fighting game.

Today, Cygames announced a new fighting game called Granblue Fantasy: Versus. The leak in discussion was posted to the message board five days ago on December 10th. This certainly improves the credibility of the leak, but as far the other information is concerned, it’s still inconclusive.
