Thanos in Fortnite? The ultimate Infinity Gauntlet Mode

The Mad Titan pays a visit to Fortnite: Battle Royale

You heard that right! Fortnite: Battle Royale just got a limited time “Infinity Gauntlet” Mode which is basically a mashup of Avengers: Infinity War and Fortnite. In this limited time mode, players can harvest the power of the Infinity Gauntlet to turn themselves into the Mad Titan, Thanos.

This actually was really unexpected, the mad titan blending in with the cartoonish world of Fortnite. No deadline for the limited time mode has been announced by Fortnite but it will probably last a week like the rest of the modes do. Epic Games didn’t make any special or hyped announcements before the release of the mode until just one day before when they release a short trailer starring Thanos on the battle stations.

When the match starts, a comet crashes somewhere into the safe zone, leaving behind the Infinity Gauntlet. The one who gets the chance to reach out to it first takes the form of Thanos.

You might be coming up with questions like what perks does one have after the transformation? Well, we got you covered.

  • Max health of 700 (doesn’t regenerate)
  • A shield cap of 200 (regenerates upon eliminating enemies)
  • Ability to deal damage to your enemies with a powerful laser attack from the Gauntlet
  • Can jump really high without any damage upon landing

If you get eliminated, you leave behind the Infinity Gauntlet, giving somebody else the chance to take your place as Thanos. As the Mad Titan, you can’t use weapons or build stuff for cover. You won’t be needing such puny tactics in the form of Thanos anyways.  You will also be noticing an increase in the number of shield potions and high-level weapons that spawn in that specific mode. That might be something to maintain a “balance” between Thanos and the rest of the players. Talking about balance, that is what Thanos too would have appreciated, no?

“This collaboration started as a simple phone conversation between Epic and Marvel over a mutual appreciation for Fortnite and Avengers. We worked closely over the following weeks to bring these two worlds together and landed on the Limited Time Mashup, Infinity Gauntlet. When we saw the movie last weekend, which was incredible, we were even more excited.” This was the statement published by The Fortnite Team on their official website.
