EA has confirmed that the fictitious manager portrayed by Jason Sudeikis would be in FIFA 23, validating rumors that a previous tweet had been raised from the Ted Lasso account.
Along with Nelson Road, the club’s home field, Ted Lasso, Coach Beard, and the AFC Richmond team’s top players, including Jamie Tartt, Dani Rojas, Sam Obisanya, Roy Kent, and Isaac McAdoo, will all be included in FIFA 23.
I am truly fortunate, and deeply grateful, to have had many special moments in my career thus far, and I consider this experience among the best of them. As long-time fans of EA SPORTS FIFA, having Ted Lasso and the whole AFC Richmond squad incorporated into the newest version of the game is truly a dream come true for myself and the rest of the fellas. Our cast and crew work tremendously hard on this show, and we are flattered that it resonates with so many folks. We look forward to our fans having the opportunity to play with, play as, and even play against their favorite AFC Richmond characters.”
-Jason Sudeikis via Press Release
In Career Mode, Lasso will be a playable manager, or you may manage AFC Richmond by moving them into the Premier League or any other Career Mode league that you can play.
Players will be able to utilize the AFC Richmond uniforms in Ultimate Team and choose either Ted Lasso or Coach Beard to lead their team. According to EA, all AFC Richmond material for FUT will be accessible via objectives and challenges.
The partnerships for the forthcoming FIFA 23 seem to be fruitful and a move in a fresh direction for EA. The public release of FIFA 23 for Xbox, PlayStation, Switch, and PC is scheduled on September 30. FIFA 23 will be on sale for Ultimate Edition buyers starting on September 27.
