Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League Has Been Reportedly Delayed To 2023

It’s been nearly seven years since Rocksteady released its last game, Batman: Arkham Knight. Since then, a myriad of rumors and leaks hinted at several different projects, none of which ever came to fruition. However, the curtain was finally lifted on Rocksteady’s next big DC game at DC Fandome 2020. That’s where Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League was first announced. After the reveal, the game only got a release window in December of 2021 where it was said that the game is slated to come out next year, sometime in 2022.

However, it seems like that might not be true after all. Bloomberg reports that the game has been delayed till 2023. Now, if this were coming from a less-known leaker, we’d question this before considering it a reality, but Bloomberg’s Jason Schrier is as reliable as a source can get. The game’s twitter account still has the 2022 release window in its bio, but today’s tweet from WarnerMedia‘s CEO regarding 2022 game releases excludes the Suicide Squad entry, adding to the credibility of its reported delay.

Again, I’d like to remind you that the game didn’t have a release date up until December 2021, so for them to go out on a limb and delay it just barely 2 months later is quite odd. However, we’re living in perhaps the strangest of times where game delays have become more prevalent than game releases, so the fact that Rocksteady has delayed the title doesn’t really come as a surprise, just more so the abrupt timing. The report cites “the pandemic and other development challenges” for the delay.

Despite the absence of Suicide Squad: Kill The Justice League, Warner Brothers still has a solid game lineup for 2022 with Hogwarts’s Legacy and Gotham Knights leading the way. Both of those games have also forged a place in this year’s schedule after seeing their own delays, as both titles were supposed to come out last year but were delayed to a 2022 release window later.
