Sony has reached a landmark as they have crossed the 500 million mark and sold more than 525.3 Million PlayStation systems worldwide.
Playstation as a brand is over 24 years old, and through that time, they have brought a lot of innovation and creativity in the gaming world. To celebrate this landmark, Sony is coming out with a special edition console, called the 500 Million Limited Edition PS4 Pro.
This PS4 will come in a translucent colour with dark blue hues, along with a matching Dualshock 4 controller, PlayStation Camera, Vertical Stand and mono headset. This varient will also come with a massive 2TB of storage space.
Every special edition PS4 Pro will have a commemorative copper plate on its front, with its limited edition serial number etched on. A few people who have a special serial number, which signifies the launch dates of older Playstation hardware will get a few ‘extra special’ hardware units. The special units can be any serial numbers like 09995 which is the U.S. Launch Date of the original Playstation, or something like 01115, the launch date of the PS4.
The special edition Dualshock 4 can be bought separately and will cost around $64.99 USD. The limited edition PS4 version will be available on retailer websites starting August 24th. The limited edition DS4 and Gold Wireless Headset will also be available at a later date from retailers.
The new look for the 500 Million Limited Edition looks great, we also got a Spiderman themed special edition PS4 recently. Sony will only sell 50,000 units worldwide for this version, so expect it to sell out in one day. This will be a great buy for someone who is looking to buy a PS4 or wants to upgrade to a PS4 Pro.
