Samsung Would Be Making The 120Hz Option For The S20 Exclusive for FHD Resolution

With news floating about the revolutionary display tech that would feature in Samsung, we have new news on the table. The market is in heavy competition with the display tech. It was only yesterday that we found out that OnePlus is going for a better 120Hz panel as well. Ice Universe has been on top of this with its tweets. Now though, there has been another development in the floating news.

According to Ice Universe’s latest tweet, Samsung may not be giving the Quad HD 120Hz panel that we were all hoping for. The Samsung S20 would be the next big flagship by Samsung. It would also be the first one by one of the big giants of the game in 2020.

According to previous news, Samsung claimed to be introducing a revolutionary new display system which would output 120Hz at Quad HD resolution with an OLED panel. Now, according to the tweet, Samsung’s variable display would work a bit differently than we had thought it would. The tweet says that there will be a varying display, that’s for sure. But it would work in such a way that at Full HD it would run at 60Hz and would have the option to bump it up to 120Hz. As for the WQHD option, it would only be capped at 60Hz. This would mean that if you wish to run your device at full resolution with the smoothest refresh rate, you simply cannot.

Why would have Samsung gone for this though? Perhaps they couldn’t get the technology right in time. Or perhaps, there was a problem with battery optimisation. This is because a higher refresh rate and higher resolution both draw a lot of energy separately. Working together would mean an even bigger toll. Perhaps, we’d know how people would react to it when the final device is launched.
