Samsung Takes a Jab At Google Pixel 3 and Its Gigantic Notch

"You could land a plane on it"

While Samsung’s main rival is Apple, Google is also a major competitor of the company thanks to its Pixel devices. The latest in the long line of Pixel phones is Pixel 3 which was revealed yesterday. The community feedback is mixed and some aspects, such as the gigantic notch, is hard to digest.

Rival Samsung took the opportunity take jabs at Google and its notch design for Pixel 3. The official twitter account went all out in this case, calling itself the leader of innovation and saying “you can land a plane” on Pixel 3’s notch.

While not everyone is “born to lead,” not everyone is born to develop proper software for Smartphones as well. Samsung and every other Android-based smartphone manufacturer depend on Google for software support. On the other hand, Pixel devices lead Android software innovation. Also, over the years Samsung has struggled with its Note lineup.

The Note 7 and some Note 8 devices were reportedly catching fire. Samsung is in a position to lead the industry and the company, overall, is doing a good job. However, it is best to stay-humble as you never know when the tied can turn.

Google Pixel 3’s notch is bigger due to two front-facing cameras for perfect selfies. The device is introducing some unique AI features for its camera. There is a Google Pixel 3 exclusive featured called the “Top Shot.” It uses Google’s AI to take multiple shots and select the best one. The AI reduces the resolution of everything surrounding the subject to reduce the overall file size.

Google Pixel 3 is releasing later this year in some regions while others would have to wait until 2019. You can pre-order the device for $799 or get up to $300 off of the base price by exchanging your current smartphone.
