Samsung Galaxy A90 Tipped to Feature a Sliding and Rotating Camera System

Popular Chinese leakster Ice Universe had claimed a few weeks back that the Samsung Galaxy A90 would be the company’s first smartphone to feature a pop-up selfie camera. Reputed leakster @OnLeaks has now claimed to have heard from a seemingly reliable source that the Galaxy A90 may actually feature a sliding and rotating camera system.

New Infinity

The latest information suggests the Galaxy A90 will utilize a “mix between the OPPO Find X sliding and OPPO N1 rotating camera systems”. This basically means the Galaxy A90 will have a single camera module for capturing regular photos as well as selfies. While the info comes from a reliance source, @OnLeaks did mention in his tweet that it remains unconfirmed at this stage.

If the rumors are indeed accurate, it would mean the Galaxy A90 will not have any notch or punch hole in its display. So if you are not a fan of Samsung’s new Infinity-V, Infinity-U, and Infinity-O displays, the Galaxy A90 with its ‘New Infinity’ display may impress you.

Since the Galaxy A90 will be the most expensive member of the 2019 Galaxy A-series lineup, we expect it to come with a quad-camera setup. Even though it may not be as impressive as the company’s flagship S10 models in the camera department, we expect the Galaxy A90 to offer a more impressive quad-camera setup compared to the Galaxy A9 (2018) from last year. We can also expect the smartphone to sport an in-display fingerprint sensor similar to the Galaxy A50.

Samsung is expected to launch the Galaxy A90 and Galaxy A70 smartphones sometime in the second quarter of the year. The company has launched three new A-series smartphones so far: Galaxy A10, Galaxy A30, and Galaxy A50. Apart from the Galaxy A70 and Galaxy A90, rumors suggest the company will also be launching the Galaxy A20 and Galaxy A40 smartphones in the near future.
