AMD Ryzen 7000 CPUs Reportedly Delayed, A Clash With Intel’s 13th Gen Release Possible

AMD has planned to announce their new Zen4 CPUs codenamed ‘Raphael‘ on the 29th of August, 2022. The press embargo will be lifted just 2 weeks post this and on the 15th of September, the customers are expected to get their hands on the Ryzen 7000 SKU(s).
However, mydrivers claims that Zen4 has been delayed. This is not something new because Hassan Mujtaba (Wccftech) also considered this as a possibility. From what it seems, the announcement will be held on the 29th of August, however, the actual launch may differ by around 2 weeks.
AMDelay?
I hope not but that's what I am hearing.

That puts Zen4’s launch date to around 27-28th of September. What’s interesting is that, Intel is also planning to unveil its Raptor Lake (announcement) at the very same date(s). New processors from team blue are often announced at their innovation event which takes place in the last week of September (27-28).
This is to be taken with a grain of salt because MSI accidentally leaked the launch date for its AM5 based X670E motherboards. As expected, the date mentioned is the 15th of September. Now of course, no AIB will bother launching its custom motherboards when the actual supported CPUs are not publicly available.

All in all, we will know for sure on the 29th of August whether these leaks are true or not. AMD’s initial lineup for Zen4 looks interesting as they have skipped out a number of SKUs.
- R5 7600X = 423.99CAD or $330
- R7 7700X = 613.99CAD or $479
- R9 7900X = 777.99CAD or $600
- R9 7950X = 1,140.99CAD or $900
This is certainly more expensive than Zen3 and the R7 7800X is no where to be found. Expect it to launch next year as a -3XD refresh possibly faster than the R9 7950X.
