Rumours Suggest The Next COD Title To Be a Remake Of Black Ops

Call of Duty Modern Warfare was quite an amazing game when it came out back in the day. They did us quite the favor when they rebooted the title for the updated consoles. That game, after a number of “meh” titles from Activision, was quite good. According to another source, The Game Revolution, Activision, Treyarch, Sledgehammer Games and Raven Software are working on a new title, this year.

According to the source, it would be a sort of reboot of Call of Duty Black Ops, another successful game of its time. The article, published on VGC claims that the project is called Project Zeus. The idea behind the title would be similar to recreate the title, as they did with Call of Duty Modern Warfare. Nibel, on twitter, tweeted about this as well.

About the Title (As Rumoured)

The game, like Black Ops, would take place during the Cold War and Vietnam War era but this time around, they would focus more on the Vietnam War. They would also be making it more life-like and therefore more blood and gore are to be expected. The article suggests this would be more realistic than Modern Warfare.

The title would use the engine from Infinity Ward, the same one as for Modern Warfare. According to the article, this would support 32v32 Ground War as well. The Multiplayer DLC would be free but for the famous Zombie mode, a season pass may be required. There is also an idea that the Zombie mode may be a story arc on its own, integrated with the Vietnam story arc.

Battle Royale for the title is still in the air but very foggy. According to the original source, Sledgehammer Games are working on one but it would not really make sense as Call of Duty Warzone just came out and it would make either it or the new one very redundant.

Lastly, though, it should be added that all these details are based on rumors. Therefore, everything mentioned should be taken with a grain of salt. Let’s see, in the days to come, what the actual title comes out to be.
