Rocket League Goes Free-to-Play: Existing Users Would Get Extra Perks Upon New Update
And Yeah It's Going Off Steam

Rocket League: an unorthodox title where car racing and football are one. Although the game first came out back in 2015, almost 5 years ago, it is still loved and played today. The title happens to be an excellent source of online, cross-platform gaming for many. Perhaps that is what keeps the hype alive. With its additional seasons and expansions, the title continues to be a fan favourite. Perhaps now there would even be more hype around it.

Rocket League Going Free?
From this tweet, we see that there are a lot of new things coming to the title later this summer. The biggest most interesting feature would be to play the title free, online. This means that users would not need to get a subscription for services in order to make online matchmaking possible. The menus, the gameplay would be refined and made much better, adapting to the new consoles. It would also feature cross-platform progression and this would be even more exciting as the title would be made available on the Epic Store as well. As soon as the title goes free to play, users will be able to play online, no charges from any platform they wish to. Things would be a little different for new Steam users but everywhere else, this stays. According to the embedded article, users who have been actively playing online before would be offered with a couple of perks as well. These include, and to quote:
All Rocket League-branded DLC released before free to play
“Est. 20XX” title that displays the first year you played Rocket League
200+ Common items upgraded to “Legacy” quality
Golden Cosmos Boost
Dieci-Oro Wheels
Huntress Player Banner
Additionally, users would also get Faded Cosmo Boot. Other than that, after the free to play version has been implemented, the legacy reward system would be available as well.
