Resident Evil 3 Remake’s Nemesis Can Bust Into Safe Rooms

With the release of Capcom’s Resident Evil 3 Remake just a month away, new details about the game have surfaced. An article published by Official Xbox Magazine has spilled the beans on a lot of gameplay features, such as Nemesis being able to break into safe rooms, the return of spider enemies, and more.

Beware, the article contained a lot of information about the game and there are minor spoilers about the story.

As spotted by ResetEra, a new issue of OXM has revealed a lot about the Resident Evil 3 Remake. The most interesting piece of information was that the upcoming title will be the first in series to break the “Safe Room Rule”. This means that it will be much harder to battle Nemesis since there is no surefire way to hide.

The article notes that the Nemesis is supposed to be a more terrifying version of Resident Evil 2’s Tyrant. The developers say that the monster is not “relentless”, and that lengthy chases will cause him to tire out and give the player some “breathing room”.

Furthermore, Resident Evil 3 Remake will feature spiders. Like the lickers from the previous game, these enemies can move quickly and even attack the player from the ceiling.

As for gameplay features, we already know that the game will introduce a dodge mechanic. This is supposedly done by using ‘quick time events’, and ‘perfect’ dodges will have their own unique animation. Carlos will also be a playable character in some parts of the story. In addition, Raccoon City is now much larger, and the developers have even added a fast travel system.

The original post goes into great detail summarizing the OXM article. Check it out here if you’re not worried about spoilers and/or are interested in learning all the new things Resident Evil 3 Remake is working with. The article describes the game as “extraordinary“, and based on what I’ve read, it does seem to be the case.

Resident Evil 3 Remake is out on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC on April 3rd 2020.
