Xiaomi’s Redmi Note 5 Pro proved to be one of the most successful budget Android smartphones released last year. The company has now rolled out the MIUI 10 Global Beta 9.3.25 update for the smartphone, bringing Android Pie goodness to the affordable smartphone.
The MIUI 10 Global Beta 9.3.25 update arrives less than a month after Xiaomi started recruiting beta testers for the Android Pie-based MIUI 10 Global Beta ROM for the Redmi Note 5 Pro as well as a few other Redmi smartphones. For now, the update is only available for closed beta testers. You can expect the Android Pie-based MIUI Global Beta ROM to begin rolling out for all users within the next few weeks.
The latest MIUI 10 Global Beta update brings Android 9.0 Pie to the Redmi Note 5 Pro, along with the latest April Android security patch and a few new features. Once you install the update on your Redmi Note 5 Pro, you should see a toggle under display settings for a system-wide dark mode.
More interestingly, however, the update includes the Game Turbo feature. The Game Turbo feature for the Redmi Note 5 Pro is identical to the one rolled out for the Pocophone F1 earlier this week. With the feature enabled, you will be able to enjoy a smoother gaming experience and also run various popular messaging apps in windowed mode while playing games.
Since Xiaomi has only rolled out the MIUI Global Nightly Beta for the Redmi Note 5 Pro, we don’t expect the stable Android Pie-based MIUI Global ROM to begin rolling out anytime soon. That said, there is certainly a good chance that the company may start pushing the stable update towards the end of the second quarter. The popular Chinese smartphone maker had rolled out Android Pie-based MIUI Global Beta updates for the Redmi Note 6 Pro and Redmi 6 Pro smartphones earlier this month.
