Redmi Note 10 Leak Shows Plenty of RAM and a Powerful SoC
It could launch this month
Its predecessor, Redmi Note 9 is still three months old. However, rumors are already surfacing about the release of Redmi Note 10. It may still be too early for rumors on this phone. However, Xiaomi has the habit of releasing a new phone every six months. And if you’re a fan of the series, then there’s reason to get excited.
The upcoming phone will still be a budget-friendly or mid-range phone. This new model will be powered by MediaTek Dimensity 820 SoC. It’s the latest model in the Dimensity 800 series announced at CES. It features 5G support, making 5G more accessible.
MediaTek Dimensity 820 offers high-performing ARM Cortex-A76 cores at 2.6 GHz to deliver super responsiveness and performance. This processor offers more camera features. It also supports 4k video HDR and it’s optimized for gaming.
It supports 5G networks not just in the US but also in Asia and Europe. It offers high average speeds.
The Redmi Note 9 sports Helio G85 gaming chipset, also from MediaTek. That said, it’s no surprise if Redmi will continue using MediaTek’s technology in the series.
It’s worth noting that it’s the same chipset that powers Redmi 10x 5G and Pro 5G. But these are smartphones exclusively available in China.
Compared to Qualcomm Snapdragon 765G, Dimensity 820 has a 20% advantage in CPU performance. In a test, the latter had recorded a CPU score of more than 12,400 while the former got a score of more than 100,000. It’s safe to say that Dimensity 820 is more powerful than Snapdragon 765G. That said, Redmi Note 10 will be a mighty smartphone with a lot of capabilities. But can it beat high-end phones?
The leak also revealed that the upcoming phone will have a powerful selfie camera installed on the left corner. It may feature three cameras with LED flash. It may also have a 48MP lens as the primary. Plus, it will have a massive 8GB of RAM. Its predecessor, the Note 9, had 4GB of RAM in the majority of the markets. However, in India, Note 9 appeared to have only 6GB.
Xiaomi may offer a Pro model along with Note 10. The Pro should include a higher refresh rate display and other more powerful features than the Note 10.
However, these features aren’t definite. There are no specific details about these phones yet. And if the leak is to be believed, the phone would be available with a price tag of $146 in the US.
