Finally, after revealing the first trailer on 20th October 2016 and the second trailer on 28th September 2017, Rockstar revealed the final trailer for Red Dead Redemption 2 on 2nd May 2018. Yeah, we know, that sounds like a lot of trailers.
They have announced that the game will be released on October 26, 2018, for both Xbox One and PS4. They haven’t announced any dates for PC yet. Rockstar stated that there won’t be any further delays in the release of the game and they really hope that this will be the final date of release. As they delayed the game once before.
According to Gamespot, CEO Strauss Zelnick stated during one of his interviews in February, “The entire focus of this organization is on delivering the highest quality entertainment experiences of any kind. More often than not, we feel proud that we’re able to do that. All of our labels are focused on releasing a title when they reach that apex of effort and perfection. And in this instance, Rockstar Games felt more polish was required, and naturally, we are in favour of that decision. The date of October 26 is set, and I am confident that will be the release date. We are incredibly excited about it.” Well, that explains well the reason for the delay of the game.
The game takes place in 1899. As Rockstar stated: “The end of the wild west era has begun as lawmen hunt down the last remaining outlaw gangs. Those who will not surrender or succumb are killed.” This part of Red Dead Redemption is clearly the prequel to the previous one. Our most loved protagonist from the previous part “John Marston” can also be seen in the trailer with a few scratches on his face and a knife at his neck.
Arthur Morgan and his gang Van der Linde are forced to flee when a robbery goes wrong. They have the greatest bounty hunters and federal agents chasing them down on the roads of West America, according to what Rockstar Games has revealed up till yet. But one thing’s for sure, the road of escape seems to be narrowing down on them. Here is the third trailer from Rockstar:
