Back at the announcement of Realme 5 the company confirmed the debut of a new lineup in September this year. The device was in rumors and leaks from the past few days. In a surprising move, the company held a special event in China to showcase the upcoming Realme XT with 64MP quad rear cameras. It will compete against the Redmi Note 8 Pro which also has 64MP quad cameras setup.
The company not only confirms the devices’ official name but also reveals everything regarding design and specs. Unlike most of the latest mid-range phones from Realme, the Realme XT comes with dewdrop notch at the top of the display. The rear side has quad cameras setup aligned vertically at the top left corner. The chassis is made up of metal with 3D curved glass covering the rear side. In terms of color options, the device is shown in two colors including Snow White and Blue with gradient finish.
The Realme XT packs a 6.4-inches AMOLED display with Full HD+ screen resolution. Under the hood Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 712 SoC is powering the phone with 8GB RAM and 128GB native storage. It features an under-glass optical fingerprint scanner.
The most promising aspect of the Realme XT is quad cameras setup on the rear. The primary sensor is a 64MP GW1 sensor, the secondary snapper is ultra wide-angle 8MP sensor. The third sensor on the rear is a 2MP macro lens whereas the depth-sensing 2MP sensor is on the bottom. Upfront the selfie snapper is 16MP module.
A fairly large 4,000mAh battery cell is on board to keep its lights on. It supports VOOC 3.0 fast charging. The device is pre-installed with ColorOS 6 based on the Android Pie. The dedicated HyperBoost 2.0 mode is on board to enhance the performance. As far as the official release is a concern, the Realme XT will likely go official on Sept 4th in China.
