Realme X, Realme 3i Announced With Dual Rear Cameras and Android Pie

Finally, the wait is over for Realme fans as the company took the stage to wrap off the cover from much the awaited Realme X and Realme 3i. As expected the Realme X falls in the upper mid-range category whereas the Realme 3i is an entry-level offering. Both the phones will be exclusively available via Flipkart and Realme official store.

Realme X Design and Display

Following the latest design trend, the Realme X is featuring a full front-facing display with minimal bezel at the top and bottom of the display. The chassis is made up of metal with the glossy plastic rear with gradient finish. Unlike the other Realme phones, it features pop-up selfie snapper. The rear side has dual cameras aligned vertically in the center with LED flashlight. The rear edges are gently curved so that the device can be grabbed single-handed easily.

The super AMOLED display is of 6.53-inches with Full HD+ screen resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels. The display aspect ratio is 19.5:9 and screen-to-body ratio is 91%. The Corning Gorilla Glass 5 is protecting the display.


In terms of specs, the Realme X is running on the Qualcomm’s Octa-core Snapdragon 710 SoC with max clocking at 2.2Ghz. The Octa-core chipset is accompanied by up to 8GB RAM and 128GB built-in storage. It lacks support for memory expansion via MicroSD. A 3,765mAh battery is on board to keep its lights on. For fast charging, it comes with VOOC 3.0 charger. As OS the device is pre-installed with Android Pie based ColorOS 6 straight out of the box. Last but not the least for the top-notch audio experience it comes with Dolby Atmos support. Thanks to AMOLED display it comes with an under-glass fingerprint scanner and facial recognition as security options.


The rear side comes with dual rear snappers. The primary sensor is Sony IMX586 48MP module with f/1.7 aperture. The secondary snapper is a depth-sensing 5MP sensor. Up front, the selfie sensor is 16MP with f/2.0 aperture. According to Realme, the pop-up snapper elevating time is 0.74 seconds. It brings a number of AI features to enhance the capturing experience. Other special goodies are Chroma Boost and Nightscape.


The Realme X base model with 4GB RAM and 128GB storage will be available at Rs 16,999 ($248). The top-tier model with 8GB RAM and 128GB storage is slightly expensive at Rs 19,999 ($292). In terms of color options, you can grab the Realme X in either Space Blue or Polar White colors.

The Realme X special pre-order will be on July 18th with a release from July 24th. It will later available for offline stores, however, the exact time is still in the dark. Apart from the regular variant, the company released Realme X Master Edition with Garlic and Onion inspired finish and Realme X Spider-Man variant.  Both the special models will be released in August.

Realme 3i

The Realme 3i is the company’s first phone under “i” lineup. The Realme 3i shares aesthetics with the standard Realme 3. Up front, you will get dewdrop notch at the top of the display. It features a 6.2-inches LCD display with HD+ screen resolution of 720 x 1520 pixels. The display aspect ratio is 19:9. The Corning Gorilla Glass 3 is protecting the display. Unlike the Realme 3, it comes with a diamond-cut matt finish. The device dimensions are 156.1×75.6×8.3mm and weigh 175g. The device will be available in Diamond Red, Blue, and Black colors.

Under the hood, the P60 SoC is powering the Realme 3i with max clocking at 2.0Ghz. It comes in two configurations, the base model has 3GB RAM and 32GB storage. The top-tier model has 4GB RAM and 64GB storage. It supports DUAL SIM cards and dedicated MicroSD slot for memory expansion up to 256GB.

Despite being an entry-level phone it has dual snappers on the rear side, the primary sensor is 13MP with f/1.8 aperture and PDAF. The secondary snapper is a 2MP depth-sensing module. The front-facing selfie snapper is 13MP. The device is pre-installed with the latest Android Pie. The lights are kept on by a 4,230mAh battery cell. As far as availability is a concern the device will be released on July 23rd. The base model with 3GB RAM costs Rs 7,999 ($118). The 4GB RAM model is slightly expensive at Rs 9,999 ($146).
