Realme 3 Confirmed to Feature a Dewdrop Notch Display and a 4230mAh Battery

OPPO spin-off brand Realme is set to launch the Realme 3 budget Android smartphone in India on March 4. The brand recently confirmed that the smartphone will feature MediaTek’s Helio P70 SoC and dual rear cameras. A landing page on Flipkart now claims the upcoming phone will be “3 steps ahead” of the competition.

Dew-drop Design

Flipkart today shed some more light on the smartphone’s spec sheet today, confirming a dewdrop notch design and a large 4230mAh battery. The landing page for the Realme 3 on the Indian e-commerce giant’s website reveals the Realme 3 will have a similar dewdrop notch at the top of the display as the Realme 2 Pro and the Realme U1. On the back, the smartphone will have a diamond-cut design as well as a fingerprint sensor.

In terms of battery life, the Realme 3 is expected to be quite impressive with its 4230mAh capacity battery. What may disappoint some buyers, however, is that the Realme 3 looks unlikely to come with fast charging support.

Realme 3 Battery Size

As mentioned earlier, the upcoming Realme smartphone will be powered by a MediaTek Helio P70 12nm octa-core processor. Realme was, in fact, the first Android OEM to launch a smartphone featuring the Helio P70 chipset. The Realme 3 will be the brand’s second Helio P70-powered phone after the Realme U1. According to a recent leak, the smartphone may be powered by a Helio P60 chipset in markets outside India. Both chips are built on a 12nm FinFET process but the newer Helio P70 comes with faster clock speeds to deliver slightly improved performance.

The smartphone’s camera hardware remains a mystery at this point. Rumors suggest the Realme 3 may come with a 48MP primary camera but the brand is yet to confirm these rumors. Based on the official teasers released by Realme so far, the phone will have a vertically-stacked dual-camera setup on the back. The resolution of the selfie camera housed in the dew-drop notch hasn’t been revealed either.
