Ahead of the season nine Pro League finals in Milan, Rainbow Six Siege has begun dropping vague and mysterious teasers of the upcoming season. Earlier this week, Ubisoft shared a teaser which gave us a sneak peak at Nøkk, the upcoming Danish attacker. Today, the developer shared another short teaser revealing the operation name and giving us another look at the female attacker.
Operation Phantom Sight
The cinematic seems to take place in the murky waters of a dark sewer. Seconds into the video, the camera glitches and we see glimpses of Nøkk. Rainbow Six Siege players will realize that this resembles something we’ve seen before. Defending operator Vigil uses his ERC-7 cloaking gadget to provide a very similar effect when viewed through attacker drones.
If the leaks are anything to go by, then Nøkk’s gadget functions almost exactly like Vigil’s. The ability to become “invisible to cameras” is exactly what we see in today’s teaser trailer.
On the defensive side, a Secret Service specialist will be joining Rainbow Six. From the looks of things, the leaker was spot on with their description of Nøkk. In the same post, they also claimed that the upcoming defender would be called Warden. Expect a similar teaser for the defending operator in the days leading up to the season nine finals.
Apart from confirming what we already knew, the trailer doesn’t reveal much. Although the area shown in the map is a dark sewer, it’s likely that the map coming with Operation Phantom Sight will feature a brighter theme.
We know that year four season two is titled Operation Phantom Sight, and that it will release sometime in June. The full reveal will take place before the grand final on May 19th, during which we will get a detailed look at both operators and the new map.
Judging from past trends, Operation Phantom Sight will go live on the test servers the day after the grand finals.
