With Rainbow Six Siege’s fourth year coming to a close, Ubisoft has now begun investing in the game’s story. Following its announcement in a recent developer blog, a story trailer showcasing the new Nighthaven organization has been released. In addition, Ubisoft has launched a new line of premium cosmetics available via the Nighthaven collection packs.
Nighthaven R&D Collection
Similar to previous premium collection packs, the new Nighthaven collection offers uniforms and weapon skins for several operators. All players receive one pack for free, and more can be purchased for renown or R6 Credits. Themed after Kali’s Nighthaven organization’s colors, the new collection contains a set for Alibi, Fuze, IQ, Jackal, Mute and Rook.
Players can purchase a Nighthaven pack for either 300 R6 Credits or 12500 Renown. There are a total of 18 items consisting of headgears, uniforms, and weapon skins. Completing the entire collection will cost a non-season pass owner 5100 R6 Credits or 212500 Renown. Season pass owners can expect to pay less thanks to a 10% discount on all shop items.
The event is live now and runs until January 6th 2020, after which the packs will no longer be available for purchase.
Ubisoft also released an animated short explaining Nighthaven’s affiliation with Six. The game’s first animated cartoon trailer sees FBI operator Ash clashing with Harry over the acceptance of a private military organization into Six.
The aforementioned teaser short will be the first of many story elements that Rainbow Six Siege will add in Year 5. Ubisoft has already confirmed that the in-game lore will be elaborated in many ways including animated shorts, operator backstories, and the upcoming battle pass.
In other related news, game file data mines reveal that Rainbow Six Siege is getting a stadium map. The map is thought to be related to next year’s Six Invitational event in February.
