Rainbow Six Siege Operation Void Edge Gameplay Revealed by Ubisoft, Oregon Map Rework Confirmed

With the official gameplay reveal of Operation Void Edge due later today, a slip up on Ubisoft’s end has given us all the details a few hours early. Earlier this week, the developers revealed the new operators, Oryx and Iana, via a CGI trailer. Just now, the studio itself posted the full gameplay reveal in its entirety, check it out:
Operation Void Edge
As seen in the gameplay reveal trailer, Oryx and Iana are exactly what the leaks suggested they would be. Furthermore, the new season will bring about a map rework for one of Rainbow Six Siege’s oldest maps, Oregon. With no leaks pointing to any sort of map rework, Ubisoft somehow managed to keep this one under wraps.
Oryx
Oryx is a new Jordanian defender capable of not just smashing through soft walls with his Remah Dash ability, but also knocking down attackers. The operator can activate the ability multiple times in quick succession, but they take some time to recharge. In addition, Oryx can jump up and grab open hatches. Similar to Amaru on attack, this defender can catch opponents off guard by forming new flank routes using his shotgun weapons.

Iana
On the other side of the coin, Iana’s gadget is all about instilling fear into her opponents. The Dutch attacker uses a Gemini Replicator to create a holographic decoy of herself that she can control. This decoy moves and functions just like a normal operator, but lacks the ability to rappel, shoot and trigger defender traps.

The Gemini Replicator gadget has no limited uses, but instead works off a cooldown timer which increases if the hologram is destroyed.
Oregon Rework
Lastly, Operation Void Edge will introduce a map rework for Oregon. Unlike previous map reworks, Ubisoft decided not to publicly announce this one. Watch the video above to see exactly what’s new.

In addition to all of these gameplay features, Void Edge may also introduce a training mode. Whilst showing off the new player hub, the video showed new menu options for Learning Grounds and Training Mode.
A full reveal panel for Operation Void Edge and year 5 will take place during the Six Invitational.
