Rainbow Six Siege Operation Para Bellum’s map “Villa” revealed

As we approach the end of Operation Chimera, Ubisoft has begun to slowly reveal the new Operation Para Bellum. A teaser image posted a few days ago gave us a sneak peak at the new map and the Italian operators that come with it.

In a blog post published today, Ubisoft uploaded the very first reveal trailer for the upcoming map titled “Villa”. The video shows a cinematic view of the insides and outsides of the map. You can check it out for yourself here:

Backstory

On their website, Ubisoft posted some information regarding the background and gameplay elements of the map.

“The land belongs to the Vinciguerra, a dangerous crime family known for their smuggling activities. The house is their retreat, where they lead a lavish lifestyle and collect rare art pieces. Now we catch the villa in a snapshot of time: Vinciguerras are burning documents and transporting their holdings before the big raid. But they’ve got wind of Operation Para Bellum and fled, leaving everything in disarray with vital information ready for the taking.”

Gameplay

“The villa was specifically designed to offer a competitive showdown. It sets the stage for diverse gameplay, providing wide staircases, narrow tunnels, and secret hatches. Don’t let the lush décor fool you, the villa is deadly: some of its floors are destructible and can fully expose you.”

Developers claim that Villa has been designed to play as a competitive map. This means that the map will be balanced and aims to be best suited for ranked play. The previous two maps, Tower and Theme Park, are disliked by many players due to their unbalanced layout. The post claims that the floors will be destructible and can fully expose players. This leads us to believe that the map will allow the complete destructibility of floors, including the impassable metal beams. If true, Villa will bring with it a new dynamic with numerous new strategies and angles.

Full Reveal

As is the case with previous seasons, Operation Para Bellum will be revealed at the end of the Pro League Finals on May 20th. All details regarding the new operators, the new map, and other changes to the game will be shared on the Rainbow 6 Twitch channel.
