Rainbow Six Siege Operation Grim Sky: Favela Returns to Casual, Frost Elite Skin and Improved Mute Functions

After the full reveal of Grim Sky yesterday, we learned details about the two new operators as well as changes to Consulate and Hereford Base. Alongside the launch of the technical test server today, the official patch notes for year 3 season 3 were shared.

Frost Elite Set

Recently, the Doc Elite Set was added to Rainbow Six Siege, giving us a total of fourteen elite sets. The latest addition to the Elite Set gallery is Frost with her Huntress uniform. Purchasing the elite set grants you the Huntress uniform, a victory animation, a gadget skin, an elite frost chibi charm, and weapon skins for her entire loadout. The Frost Elite Set will be available to purchase with R6 Credits at the start of Operation Grim Sky.

Map Pool Changes

With the rework of Hereford Base ready, the map will return to the Ranked map pool. Twelve maps, including Hereford Base, will be available in the Ranked playlists. In the Casual playlist, a total of eighteen maps, including Favela, Yacht and Tower will be available.

Improved Mute Functions

Recently, Ubisoft began automated temporary bans against players who displayed toxic behavior in text chat. While the toxic player is banned within seconds, their message is still shown in text chat. The new and improved mute capabilities will give players more control over their game experience. Now, each player’s voice or text chat can be muted in the game individually.

Dynamic Resolution Scaling

To improve performance on consoles, Ubisoft is introducing dynamic resolution to achieve more consistent framerate. Mostly in situations where GPU stress is higher, such as explosions, dynamic resolution will allow better rendering of framerate.

• Xbox One outputs at 900p with a render scaling between 40% (1012×572) and 80% (1432×804).
• PS4 outputs at 1080p with a render scaling between 40% (1216×684) and 80% (1720×968).
• Xbox One X outputs at 1728p with a render scaling between 40% (1944×1092) and 100% (3072×1728).
• PS4 Pro outputs at 1440p with a render scaling between 40% (1620×912) and 100% (2560×1440).
