Rainbow Six Siege Money Heist Crossover Event Announced

Ubisoft has announced a new themed limited time event for Rainbow Six Siege. As part of a collaboration with Netflix, the studio is introducing a game mode based on La Casa De Papel. From November 20th to 25th, Rainbow Six Siege players will be able to take part in a Money Heist-style Hostage situation on the Bank map.

Money Heist

The minor limited time event pits attackers against defenders on the Bank map. The game mode follows the Hostage rule set, where defenders have to prevent the hostage from being rescued by attackers.

The twist, however, is not something particularly exciting. The hostage is equipped with the Casa De Papel iconic red jumpsuit and mask. Two operators, Hibana and Vigil, also have similar costumes equipped. These cosmetics will be available to purchase from the shop once the event launches tomorrow.

The Hibana Heist Bundle contains the Red Jumpsuit uniform, Emboldened headgear, Tokyo charm and Regal Mint weapon skin for the TYPE-89.

The Vigil Accomplice Bundle includes the Red Jumpsuit uniform, Nameless headgear, The Surrealist charm and Fresh Paper weapon skin for the K1A.

Both sets will be available to purchase with R6 Credits, and will remain in the shop for approximately one year.

Free Weekend

In addition to the five-day event, Rainbow Six Siege will be free for the upcoming weekend. The free-to-play phase kicks off November 21st, and ends alongside the Casa De Papel event on November 25th. During this time, the game will go on sale for 70% off.

The Money Heist limited time event for Rainbow Six Siege has been in the works for quite some time. Leaks from as far back as August gave us a preview of the unique red uniforms and the iconic masks.

The Money Heist event certainly isn’t as unique as some of Rainbow Six Siege’s other ones, so it seems that both Netflix and Ubisoft are simply using it to attract new audiences for both parties.
