Rage 2 officially announced

It has been officially confirmed! Rage, the fps game released back in 2007 from Bethesda (the creators of Doom) is getting a sequel! After the leaks and news from different sources including Walmart Canada, the developers have themselves released the first official trailer for Rage 2 which confirmed it’s released. It is set in a post-apocalyptic world where you will kill, blow and shoot down every last opponent of yours.

Bethesda gave us a summary of the sequel:

“Dive headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order. Rage 2 brings together a true open world FPS experience where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything.”

You might have noticed the similarity between Rage 2 and Mad Max through its trailer. Same kind of savage outlaws with heavy loads of guns and vehicles. Well, the similarity you noticed is real. Id software (developers of the first Rage) has partnered up with Avalanche Studios for the production of Rage 2. These are the same studios which were responsible for the game Mad Max. It seems more like another version of Mad Max with a pink and yellowish touch with enemies from the game Doom. We expect to see a gameplay similar to that of Mad Max, but we’ll have to wait for the gameplay trailer to confirm if the hype is real.

The trailer doesn’t contain anything relevant to the gameplay and just shows off some the cinematic scenes from the game, but another trailer for the gameplay is expected to be released today by Bethesda.

No official date has been announced for the release of the game, but we surely expect some more reveals at the E3 conference being held in approximately a month. The game will be released for PC, Xbox One, and PS4.
